We remember people from the resistance against the Nazis – famous and lesser-known names.
They were individuals, friends, couples, families, members of associations and parties in the resistance against the Nazis.
They did not doubt that one person alone or a small group could make a difference.
Without their courage, hope and determination, there would have been no resistance against National Socialism.
We remember them.
They changed the world.

The actor brings Georg Elser to life, commemorating him and others
who resisted the Nazi regime.
Dr Ruth Hoffmann
The journalist and author of the book ‘Das deutsche Alibi’ (The German Alibi) sheds light on the cooperation
between very different people in the resistance: conservatives and communists, military personnel and
pacifists, Christians and trade unionists largely put aside their differences
in order to pursue a common goal.
Dr Ludger Fittkau
The journalist and author of the book Die Konspirateure (The Conspirators) has studied the civil resistance against the Nazis in depth and shows the impact Elser's actions had on the resistance in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Lothar Schwamb
He is the great-nephew of Ludwig Schwamb from Undenheim, who knew that ‘doing nothing is terrible when everything is pressing!’
As a Christian and social democrat, he joined the resistance. He was a member of the
‘Kreisau Circle’ against the National Socialist dictatorship and was involved in the attempted coup of 20 July
1944.
